COP27 Student Competition

DEADLINE: JULY 14TH, 2022

The Office of The Prime Minister invites senior high and tertiary level students to apply for The Bahamas’ United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) (COP 27) Student Competition. Applicants will have the chance to win a scholarship to attend the 27th Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework on Convention on Climate Change as a member of The Bahamas’ delegation. The Conference is scheduled to be held during November 7-18 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

Requirements:
  1. Applicants must complete the application form by July 14th, 2022.
  2. Applicants must be high school or home school students (Bahamian public or private) 15 years of age or older or tertiary students at the University of The Bahamas or other Bahamian tertiary institution.
  3. Applicants must not be older than 25 years of age as of November 1st 2022
  4. Applicants must submit a valid up-to-date Bahamian Passport.
  5. Applicants must submit an essay, video presentation via a link, and resume.
  6. Applicants will be judged based on the submission and performance of the following documents:
    1. Personal Essay;
    2. Video presentation showcasing one of the climate change solutions in your essay;
    3. Recent Résumé.
  7. Shortlisted applicants will be required to undergo an interview process.
